25th Anniversary Museum Celebration & Annual General membership meeting May 16th, 2020

Staff and volunteers at the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum have announced a packed schedule for the museum’s free 25th anniversary party Saturday, May 16th.

May 16th, is our annual free day for visitors, and also scheduled is the Whiskey Flats Band, led by Mark McCormick. In keeping with the history theme of the day, he will focus his selections on 19th century music. Local logging and road-building equipment enthusiasts enjoy a team of volunteers operating examples of various historic machines, some more than 100 years old and still working. Along with local equipment enthusiasts involved, there will be the Ft. Vancouver Antique Equipment Association #23, demonstrating various engines and others pieces of history.

The museum staff and volunteers will be manning a food booth selling typical favorites like hamburgers and hotdogs, nacho’s, and augmented with some now-famous strawberry shortcake. In the main lobby visitors will get a chance to watch local traditional hand-crafters creating products such as wool, bead work and quilts. Following will be the 24th annual membership meeting at 2:30 p.m., held in the DeGroote Theater where museum members can vote for new board members.
