“Christmas in the Gorge” Public Sing-Along

Stevenson, WA- “Christmas in the Gorge” is a community-wide celebration beginning Friday, December 4^th and continuing through the weekend. As part of that event, the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum is hosting a free public “Sing-Along” Saturday, December 5^th starting sharply at 3:00 pm. The singing will conclude at 4:00 pm with holiday refreshments being served until 4:30 pm.

            The public sing-along has become an annual tradition and has been enjoyed by those who love to sing and those who enjoy listening. Vocal support will be provided by a quartet of carolers composed of Nicole Tiffany, Christi Zelinta, Karen Branch and Diane Velasquez, all from Vancouver. The pianist will be Lois Ann Davis, of Battleground, who will provide the accompaniment on the Steinway concert grand piano.

            Bring the children to meet Mr. and Mrs. Santa and receive a special goodie bag and the opportunity to have their photo taken on Santa’s lap. When asked if he was bringing Rudolph, he replied, “No, I want him to rest up for the big day later in the month. Instead, the Mrs. and I will fly (incognito, of course!) on a regular commercial airline.”

            An added bonus for Skamania County residents is Museum admission is free Saturday, December 5^th.  Free to everyone is the opportunity to shop in the Museum Store and to view the art work of Dorothy Ryan. Her textured art work is quite unique and inspiring.

            The Museum Store is featuring Merna DeBolt’s book, Museum Musings Volume II. For anyone interested in local history, this is a “must” on the gift list. Also featured is Klickitat Pottery at a savings of 20% off. Come see what all that is available and you are bound to find a treasure. The store also provides a shipping service.

            The Museum is also supporting the food drive organized by the Chamber of Commerce for the Stevenson Food Bank. Non perishable food items will be collected until the middle of December. The food bin is located conveniently in the Lobby near the main entry.

            The Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum is open daily from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. It will be closed Thanksgiving Day, but will be open as usual on Friday, November 27^th. It also will be closed for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
