Harsh Demands
Bonneville Dam
The Harsh Demands gallery is the first one on second floor and features a short discussion of the positive and negative effects of hydro-electric power, the construction of dams and the many consequences on the river and wildlife. We recommend a visit to the Bonneville Dam Visitor Centers. One is located at the Second Powerhouse 7 miles west of the Museum. The second is located at Bonneville, Oregon, directly across the river from the Second Powerhouse. The history of hydro-electric power is told in detail and fish viewing is a must!
